Important Dates and Holiday Mini Sessions/ Gainesville Photographer

Ahh…. Fall is rapidly approaching, and with that means that the holidays are just around the corner. I wanted to use this blog to communicate some important dates for all of my clients to keep in mind as we get close to the end of the year.

I am now accepting holiday card pre orders. That means that you can pick your card and the photo that you would like in your card, and I will send you a proof now and invoice you for the order. I will not actually order the cards until 11/15, so you have plenty of time to pay for them. Cards will arrive at your home just after Thanksgiving. If you have had a photo session in 2009 and would like your gallery reactivated, send me an email at jaime@jlsphotographystudio.com and let me know which 72 hour time period you would like your gallery to be reactivated for. This is free of charge, so no $25 reactivation fee!

OCTOBER 10th and OCTOBER 11th- Holiday Mini Sessions
Mini sessions are scheduled at Kanapaha Botanical Gardens (10/10) and the Thomas Center (10/11). Each 30 minute session will focus on getting the perfect family portrait for your holiday cards. Once your photos are edited you will be invited to view the JLS Photography Holiday Card Collection to choose a design for your holiday cards or prints for gift giving.

OCTOBER 24th- ROCKSTAR BOUDOIR MARATHON

NOVEMBER 15- all holiday card pre order payments are due by this date and will be processed at this time. That means if you have preordered your holiday cards from a session during 2009 then you will receive them right around Thanksgiving.

NOVEMBER 22- last day for sessions to be completed for holiday cards and gifts. Any sessions taking place after this date are not guaranteed to have orders back in time for the holidays.

DECEMBER 6- Last day for holiday orders to be placed.

DECEMBER 15- Last day for RUSH holiday orders to be placed. ($30 rush order fee)

Space is filling up rapidly from now until the end of 2009, so if you are interested in booking a session contact me today to pick a date and time. I am also accepting deposits for the January Rockstar Boudoir Marathon to be held 01/09/10.

Giving Really IS Awesome/ Gainesville Photographer

At the end of last year I announced the Giving is Awesome contest here on the blog. Perhaps you remember the story of Mia and her battle with Multiple Sclerosis. Click here for the full post. Even though Mia won the photo session in January, her constant fight with her disease had her in and out of the hospital for the majority of this year. Mia had contacted me and was so greatful for the opportunity to have family portraits done, but she knew she did not want to be in a wheelchair at their session. So with that determination, Mia has fought hard and when we met last week at the Thomas Center for their photo session, she was walking completely unassisted. It was absolutely wonderful to meet such a loving and caring family, whose trials and tribulations this past year and a half have brought them so much closer together. Mia’s positive outlook on everything is infectious, and I had a huge smile on my face the entire time I was with her and her family.

Giving truly is awesome. I felt like a million dollars. If you know anyone that might be a great candidate for the Giving is Awesome campaign this year, please feel free to share their story with me. I will make a formal announcement on the blog as it gets closer to the holiday season.

And- since giving is SO awesome- I am going to be doing some giveaways this week. Hard To Believe She’s ONE!/ Jacksonville Child Photographer

Hard to believe that an entire year has gone by…. and the little “blessed baby” is now turning one! Remember this photos?

To celebrate her birthday her grandparents came down from South Carolina and her parents invited me up to Jacksonville to do her first year photos. Miss Z has grown into such a beautiful little toddler- just check out her big blue eyes! We met in San Mateo Square for these photos- it was a photographer’s dream setting. Even though it was sprinkling out we were able to get plenty of photos under the covered gazebo, and once the rain stopped we went down by the river for some sunset photos.

Summer Fun With The K Family/ Gainesville Family Photographer

One Hot Mama/ Gainesville Maternity Photographer

This was literally the hottest session that I have ever had- even at 7 at night it was still 95 degrees with no breeze whatsoever in Gainesville. I met with Christi and her darling husband and daughter at Kanapaha Botanical Gardens to celebrate baby #2’s bump. Christi purchased my Belly to Baby package, so you will soon see their newest addition – a little girl named Riley- on this blog. We braved the heat and the bugs to capture this sunset session. Thanks to this beautiful family for being such great sports even though I know they had to be miserable, especially Christi who is about 3 weeks away from giving birth. Enjoy the sneak peek!

Aren’t these blocks so cute? They are larger than the ones that I normally use and I think they photographed great!

And of course I had to share one of the soon to be big sister Aubree. She is almost two and is such a little cutie!

After the Rain/ Gainesville, FL Engagement Photographer

We had to reschedule this shoot due to last week’s horrendous weather, but luckily Friday was such a gorgeous day that it ended up being absolutely perfect for our session! In fact, it seemed the rain made the green grass and leaves even more beautiful! Mike and Jen have been together for several years and will be tying the knot April 18th in Virginia. We met at Lake Alice for their session- quite fitting since Mike graduated from the University of Florida and still calls Gainesville home. They also brought along their 16 month old daughter, and of course I couldnt help but want to get her in some pictures. Enjoy your sneak peek!

Meet Morgan/ Gainesville, FL Baby Photographer

Last weekend I had the pleasure of photographing this little beauty for her one year pictures. She was so well behaved and cooperative it was easy to forget she isn’t even one yet! I think she had the most fun playing with all of the leaves and sticks lying on the ground, but we managed to keep her clean long enough to get these adorable pictures.
